The Burrton Recreation Commission was formed in 2007 to
promote activity for residents of all ages in our community. Current
commissioners are: Ralph Butler, Justin Dunlavy, Brad Janzen, Heath
Holzrichter, and Terry Leonard. Recreation Directors are
John Young
and Amy Bickel.

The Municipal Swimming Pool was constructed in
1968 and is an active part of the summer recreation program. |

Burrton has designed and presented the plans & drawings for this
multi-purpose concessions, scoring, & restroom facility to the Burrton
Recreation Commission. If adopted, & with Community Support, this facility
will be located in the Milburn Stone Recreational Park Complex. |
Milburn Stone Park |
400 East Adams Street. Ten acres of land for this
recreation area was donated in 1956. It encompasses the municipal
swimming pool, a lighted tennis court, sand volleyball court, and 2
baseball diamond fields. There is also a picnic area with playground
equipment, and the Flickinger Memorial Activity Building. The park
is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., March 1st through October 1st.
The Milburn Stone Park Complex was named in honor of
Milburn Stone, a former resident of the community who was a TV favorite on
the Gunsmoke series, in which he played Doc Adams. |

Center & Harvey Streets.
The park is located on a
half acre of land donated in 1915. There is playground equipment and
picnic tables on a shaded and grassed site. The park is in a
residential area and is frequented by small children. This is also
the site of the City water tower. |

and swimming for the whole family. |
Harvey County West Lake |

15-acre community lake with fishing for Bluegill,
Crappie, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, and Largemouth Bass.
Hiking, picnicking, wildlife viewing, fishing, camping, swimming, and
sports are the recreation opportunities available at this park.
Camping is allowed by permit. 2 hiking trails are maintained.
